Getting started
Four short steps connect your account to the map. The first two are quick. The Telegram and AI key steps each take about a minute and involve switching to another app or website. Screenshots are below for every screen you will see.
Set an app password
The password encrypts the Telegram session and your AI keys on the server. Nobody else can read them, including us. The password is never stored, so the browser is the right place to remember it.
- Eight characters minimum. Longer is better.
- When the browser asks to save it, accept. The password is asked for again every time the secrets lock.
- If you forget it, the saved Telegram session and AI keys are unrecoverable. You will need to connect them again from scratch.
Connect your Telegram account
The app reads chats on your behalf, only chats you already belong to, and only while the app is open. There are two ways to connect: a login code, which works with just one phone, or a QR code you scan from a second screen.
With a login code
Use this if you only have your phone, or if the app is open on the same phone as Telegram.
- In the account panel, open Telegram connection and choose Use a login code.
- Type your phone number with the country code and tap Send me the code.
- Telegram sends the code as a message in your Telegram app. Open it and remember the code.
- Come back to the app, type the code and tap Connect Telegram.
With a QR code
Use this if the app is open on a computer or tablet and Telegram is on your phone.
On your phone
- Open Telegram.
- Open Settings (the gear icon).
- Tap Devices.
- Tap Add Device at the top.
On this screen
- In the account panel, choose Scan a QR code, then click Connect Telegram by QR.
- Point the phone camera at the QR shown on this screen.
- Tap Confirm on the phone.
If your Telegram has two-step verification turned on, you will see a password field after you scan or type the code. That is the Telegram cloud password, not the app password from step 1.
We recommend turning two-step verification on before you connect. It is what keeps a stolen session from costing you the account, and the account panel keeps reminding you until it is on.
Add an AI key
One key is enough to finish setup, but we recommend adding at least two. The app tries the providers in the order below and moves to the next one when a provider runs out of quota, so a second key is what keeps the map placing messages all day.

- On the Workers AI page, pick the REST API card, not the Llama 3 Worker one
- Click "Create a Workers AI API Token". The Account ID you need later is on this same page
- Leave the permissions as they are and click "Create API Token"
- Copy the token from the panel, and the Account ID from the page behind it

Pick chats to follow
Add any public Telegram channel or group you already belong to. The chat appears on the map with events placed automatically.
- Only public chats with a @username are supported.
- You need to be a member of the chat in Telegram first.
- Adding a chat someone else already added attaches your account to it. The events are shared, not duplicated.
